This is our second short stay at Ranscombe House and I couldn't recommend it more - rooms are comfy, the breakfast is fantastic and it's an easy walk down into Brixham proper. Two other couples we got talking to at breakfast were also return visitors to the hotel - which tells you all you need to know!
Sarah and Simon and our 2 little Tibetan spaniels stayed in the Admiral Suite, 21/8/25, stayed many times at Pips Bed and breakfast, and once again, absolutely perfect, thank you Pip, unbelievable accommodation, we absolutely love the Admiral, views are just amazing of brixham harbour, the breakfast is just so good, Pip goes above and beyond. Will be returning yet again, Sarah and Simon, Dogs Odie and Mayli, Redditch, England ????????????????????????

A very enjoyable weekend at the Ranscombe House Hotel. Spotlessly clean and nicely appointed room in a charming grand old (Victorian?) building. Friendly and efficient greeting, comfortable bed, gorgeous freshly cooked & piping hot breakfast, great service, couldn't fault it. Breakfast gets a particular thumbs up, wide selection of items to choose from as well as a large choice of sauces, jams & preserves, served by an extremely personable gentleman. One small caveat, obviously in such a magnificent old building most rooms are reached by stairs, some of which could be awkward for someone with serious mobility issues, but not withstanding that I would have no hesitation in recommending the Ranscombe House, and will certainly return.
The most beautiful views! Owner is an absolute gem, lovely character. Friendly, homely and will 100% be returning. Breakfast - I had pancakes - was divine. Mother had salmon and eggs, best she's ever had. Beds are super comfortable, tea and coffee with kettle in room. Downstairs has an honesty bar if you didn't make it to the shops. First time in Brixham and will not he the last.
This was our best accommodation of the 5 nights at different places walking coastal path, and also v good value in the bunk room. Perfect location, v central. Lounge and dining room with sea views and lovely big garden. Best breakfast, local kippers and poached eggs on gluten free toast, are you kidding?! Plus whatever you wanted, bacon, sausage, lush muesli, nuts, fruit, etc etc etc. Host finds the sweet spot between efficiency and friendliness with no fuss. Perfect!
Surprise 70th birthday booking, mid-december. Beautiful house with stunning period features. We were upgraded to the Admiral Suite with great sea view and period wrought iron balcony. Pip looked after us very well, we were lucky with the weather, so all in all a lovely birthday weekend. Thanks Pip
My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights on our way to Cornwall with our dogs. It was fabulous, wished we had been staying for longer. The room was clean and the bed was so comfortable. The breakfast was everything you could want and more. Very dog friendly. Pip was the perfect host along with his daughter and another gentleman doing breakfast on the Saturday. Our room had a lovely sea view, and the garden was perfect for soaking up the sunshine. Thankyou so much for your hospitality Julie and Paul and fur babies
